After studying at Mannes/Manhattan College of Music, I began my professional career playing guitar in Broadway Musicals, including EVITA, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC and MAN OF LA MANCHA. I had a production company in NYC called RIGHT SOUND MUSIC. We produced commercial music for companies including NIKE, PONTIAC, DUPONT and many others. My first band was signed by legendary rock impresario SID BERNSTEIN, and since then both as a solo artist and as a member of the band LITTLE BLUE, I have made records for BLUE ROSE RECORDS, TAXIM RECORDS, RENEGADE RECORDS and IMMERGENT RECORDS. My latest CD, “Time Still Knocking”, features a host of illustrious guests including David Crosby, John Oates, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, Dave Koz, Paul Barrere and Jennifer Warnes.
Over the years, both in New York City and in Los Angeles, I have maintained a busy schedule. I was the project coordinator for the Shout Factory release of the 20th anniversary edition of the Jennifer Warnes/Leonard Cohen project "Famous Blue Raincoat", and I toured and recorded with Jennifer as her musical director. I recently won two HOLLYWOOD MUSIC IN MEDIA awards for best song in the Americana/Roots and The Blues categories. I helped develop and produce sessions for “On The Music Path”, a series of music lesson apps for the iPad, featuring such artists as Jackson Browne, Eric Johnson, Robben Ford, and Richard Thompson, as well as releasing an Introduction To Guitar series of my own lessons.
I manage KATONAH RECORDING STUDIOS and THE RENEGADE MUSIC GROUP. I am currently producing a solo album for Dan Navarro, whose hit songs include Pat Benatar’s “We Belong”. I am the composer and music supervisor for a soon to be released film called “Dying To Know”, a documentary about Timothy Leary and Ram Dass, narrated by Robert Redford. I am beginning work on a Quiet Revolution Pictures production of “Broken Shell”, a music-intensive dramatic film for which I co-wrote the screenplay. I had the honor to record and mix Ravi Shankar’s final two performances, both to be released on DVD.
I take great pleasure in being the “conductor” of THE NIGHT TRAIN MUSIC club, which is always changing and adding new members. I look forward to our next ride.
